Tariwala Chicken is a very Popular punjabi style dish served hot with tandoori roti or jeera rice.
Steps :
*Marinate the Chicken
1) Combine 500 grams Chicken, Turmeric Powder – 1/4tsp , Red Chilli Powder- 1tsp, Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1tsp, Salt – 1tsp, Lemon Juice – 1tsp . Set aside for about an hour.
*For making gravy
1) Heat 2tbsp Oil, add whole spices- 1 inch Dalchini, 1tsp Jeera, 1Bay Leaf, 3 Black Pepper, 2 cloves and allow them to sizzle.
2) Add 3 sliced onions , allow it to turn translucent then add in 1tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste and 3 Green Chillies.
3) As soon as onions turn slightly brown, add spice powders – 1tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder , 2tsp Coriander Powder, 1/4tsp Red Chilli Powder, 1/4tsp Turmeric Powder, 1/4tsp Jeera Powder and Salt as per taste (Remember we have added salt while marination also).
4) Roast the spices for a minute. Then add 2 tomatoes (roughly chopped), add little water and let tomatoes turn soft.
5) Goes in marinated chicken and Kasuri Methi.
6) Add little water and let chicken cook till chicken is 80-90% cooked.
7) Add 2 cups water or according to your consistency. Give it a nice boil .
8) Add freshly chopped Coriander and your Tariwala Chicken is ready to serve.
