2 cups short grain rice (or sushi rice)
1 tsp turmeric powder
4 garlic cloves
1 large onion
2 shallots
2 3-inch pieces of fresh ginger
1 tbsp salt
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
Green onion, chopped
Served with:
Sliced tomato, cucumber, Vietnamese cilantro (rau răm)
Sweet and sour thick dipping fish sauce, or salt and pepper in lime juice
