I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy with my daughter, and I had about 35lbs to lose after she was born. My husband and I came up with this phenomenal smoothie recipe which we made nearly every day post-partum. While I introduced many healthy practices, this was one recipe that I firmly believed helped me to lose the baby weight and be energized. Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe
(yields 2 servings)
– 2 frozen bananas
– 2 handfulls of frozen spinach/kale (or greens blend)
– 2 Tbsp hemp seeds (optional)
– 1 Tbsp flax seeds (optional)
– 2 Tbsp cocoa
– 1/2 cup oats
– 6 dates
– 2 Tbsp 100% natural peanut butter
– cashew milk (to desired consistency)
– 2 Tbsp honey (optional)
– 1-2 tray(s) of ice
Directions:
– add all ingredients (except for ice) to a blender and blend on high for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
– add ice and blend until desired slushiness
– add more cashew milk if too thick
– poor into a glass and enjoy!
